Jumper’s knee is caused by the patellar tendon becoming inflamed (patellar tendonitis) or the tissue tearing or degenerating (patellar tendinopathy). Symptoms of jumper’s knee include pain or tenderness at the front of the knee just below the kneecap (i.e. the top of the tendon), pain when running or bending the knee, weakness, stiffness or limited mobility, an aching feeling, and swelling.
The RapidForce® V Shape is designed to reduce jumper’s knee pain as well as general knee pains. The V Shape’s central core is placed atop the patellar tendon (between the bottom of the kneecap and the shin bone), which stabilizes the injured area. The dual arms are then stretched outwards, providing additional structural support. The resulting mechanical support shares the body’s workload, giving the sore or injured area relief to reduce inflammation and swelling and encourage the circulation of blood, oxygen, fluid, and healing nutrients to the injury site.
