Rapid Force Muscle-Support Shapes - X Shape

RapidForce® Shapes stabilize and support the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the hamstring and back thigh. The X Shape is designed to reduce swelling by gently lifting the skin above the pain point, which can help circulate blood, oxygen, fluids, and nutrients to an injury site.

Hamstring pain and hamstring injuries are usually caused by strains, pulls, or tears in the tendons or muscles in the back of the thigh. The hamstring is comprised of three muscles and their tendons and runs from the hip area to just below the knee. Hamstrings are mostly used to extend the legs and bend the knees.
 
Potential hamstring injury symptoms include a sharp pain, tenderness, weakness, tightness, minor loss of upper leg movement, swelling, and severe pain when flexing or contracting the muscles. Typically, hamstring injuries are the result of overloading the muscles or stretching them beyond their capacity during athletic activities that rely on the extension or flexion of the leg, such as sprinting, lunging, speed walking, kicking, jumping, twisting, and climbing.
 
Hamstring pain and injuries are common in many athletes and active people, especially those who play football, soccer, tennis, and other sports that require sudden movements, frequent starts and stops when running, and general extension of the leg or thigh muscles. Pain in the hamstring can also be caused by a sudden or forceful impact, which is common in contact sports such as football or rugby.
 
RapidForce® X Shapes are designed to reduce pain in the hamstrings. The Shape’s central core is placed atop the area in the hamstring with the most pain, stabilizing the injury site. The four arms are stretched outwards, creating structural support for nearby muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Time it Right

While RapidForce® Shapes can be applied at any time, they should be applied 1–2 hours before beginning strenuous physical activity. The Shapes can start working is as little as two hours, but some applications take up to four hours.

Prep Skin Thoroughly

Wash and dry the skin to remove oils, moisture, and dirt. Trim or shave body hair; this helps create a more secure bond and more comfortable removal. Apply the provided Skin Tac liquid adhesive wipe. Allow 30 seconds for it to dry.

Customize Stretch

Secure the Shape’s central core to the most painful spot. For daily wear or moderate-to-light athletics, a mild stretch of 1/2” is ideal. Application instructions vary based on Shape, so read and follow the instructions mailed with your shape(s).

Secure Bond

With both the Shape and the skin at room temperature, carefully begin applying the shape. Once the shape is secure, rub it vigorously to maximize adhesive bond to skin.

  1. 1. Apply the center of the X Shape

    Peel off the backing of the center of the X Shape and place on the back of the of thigh. Place the X Shape higher or lower on the hamstring depending on where the pain is centrally located. Do not stretch the arms too far up the back thigh or too close to the bend of the knee. Press to secure the bond.

    2. Apply the lower arms - 1/2" Stretch

    Peel off the middle backing of one of the lower arms of the X Shape, leaving the end tab in place. While stabilizing the center with one hand, customize the level of stretch based on the intensity of activity and place toward the outer back of knee. Smooth the fabric onto the skin, moving from the center of the Shape outwards. Remove the backing from the end tab and place on the skin. Do not stretch this small piece. Press over the entire arm of the X Shape for about 10 seconds to secure the bond. Apply the other lower arm of the X Shape in the same fashion, in the opposite direction.

    3. Apply the upper arms - 1/2" Stretch

    Apply one upper arm toward the inside of the thigh and the other toward the outside of the thigh. Apply both lower arms, using the same application approach as described in step 2.

    4. Feel Relief and Remove

    You may begin feeling relief within a few hours. However, it could take up to 24 hours. RapidForce shapes can provide pain relief and muscle support for up to five days but can be removed at any time. To remove, pull from the end of the arms to the center. If hair is present, pull in the direction of the hair’s growth to reduce discomfort. For easier removal, use mild warm water in the shower and then remove the shape slowly.
