Anterior Shoulder Instability

Star Shape - Pain Relief & Muscle Support Shape

RapidForce® Shapes stabilize and support the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the shoulder. The Star Shape is designed to reduce swelling by gently lifting the skin above the pain point, which can help circulate blood, oxygen, fluids, and nutrients to an injury site.

Anterior instability is an injury to the glenohumeral joint in the shoulder. The rounded top portion of the upper arm bone (humerus) is dislocated from the shoulder socket (glenoid cavity) and thrust toward the front side (anterior) of the body.

Anterior instability is caused by repetitive arm and shoulder movements or gradual wear and tear. Workers with labor-intensive jobs or athletes who participate in swimming, baseball, softball, volleyball, gymnastic, and weightlifting are the most likely to develop anterior shoulder pain. As opposed to glenohumeral dysfunction where the pain is in the back of the shoulder blade, pain from anterior instability will be located in the front of the shoulder, 2–3 inches above the armpit.

Pain from shoulder instability can include a wide variety of symptoms, including stiffness, weakness, a popping or grinding sensation, pain deep within shoulder joint, pain when reaching backward or overhead, tenderness, a feeling of looseness or as though the arm is “just hanging there.” Signs of shoulder instability can also include numbness, tingling, loss of strength or function, decreased range of motion, and the shoulder repeatedly giving out.

RapidForce® Star Shapes are designed to reduce shoulder pain, including pain from anterior shoulder instability. The Star Shape has a central core that is placed on the skin 2–3 inches above the armpit, right above the area where the upper arm meets the shoulder joint. The Shape’s six arms are stretch outwards, providing addition stabilization and support for the area surrounding the shoulder. The Star Shape also provides mechanical lift, which literally lifts the upper layers of skin, encouraging blood, oxygen, nutrients, and healing fluids to reach an injury site more efficiently.

RapidForce® Shapes are unlike any other pain-relief product on the market today. Each Shape’s patented design was carefully developed and perfected by a team of physical therapists, athletic trainers, engineers, and an ultrasound technician who sought to create a product that supports the muscles and helps relieve pain caused by muscle, tendon, joint, and ligament injuries. RapidForce® Shapes are used by athletes at all levels, including professional athletes, semi-pro athletes, and people who lead or want to lead an active lifestyle.
